WHO ARE WE?

The Vista Murrieta HS Sapphires are a colorguard organization affiliated with the Vista Murrieta HS Marching Band and Instrumental Music Program. Throughout the fall we compete in BOA (Bands of America) and WBA (Western band Association) sanctioned events with the VMHS Golden Alliance Marching Band. In the winter we break off on our own and divide into 2 teams: the Varisty Sapphire Winterguard (Scholastic Open Class) and the JV Sapphire Winterguard (Scholastic AA Class). Our Varsity team competes in WGI (Winterguard International Sport of the Arts), WGASC (Winterguard Association of Southern California), and WCWG (West Coast Winterguard) sanctioned events, while the JV competes in WGASC events solely. Both teams attend the WGASC Championships annually.

We aim to foster a culture aligned with that of the VMHS Instrumental Music Program:

We encourage the skills and discipline necessary for achieving excellence throughout a lifetime of experiences. Students can learn the importance of a cooperative team effort while working with fellow members to accomplish the shared goals of the program. Students have fun meeting new friends and traveling to new and exciting places. In addition, the program challenges students in areas of personal growth and sportsmanship.
